About Us - Who we are.

     Our name is Community Dancers Brno. We are a community of people of all age groups who enjoy dancing together in squares, lines, or couples to music ranging from the 19th century to the present day.

     If you feel like joining our rich club life, come and join us – you are most welcome. We are not limited to any single dance activity; after all, we dance for joy and for active, meaningful use of our free time. You can see some of our activities in our photo gallery.

     For a long eight years, until the end of the 2007/2008 school year, we met regularly at the CVČ Paleta youth centre on Touškova Street in Brno-Židenice. We were later forced to leave and look for a new venue. During the summer holidays we found suitable premises, and from the beginning of the 2008/2009 school year we have had a new dance venue: formerly CVČ Louka, now SVČ Lužánky – Louka Centre, Bzenecká 23 (Brno-Vinohrady). At the same time, we introduced a new dance day, Thursday, for Line Dance, and traditionally Wednesday remains dedicated to Square Dance (see detailed schedule here). In the past, we also had a children’s section called Community’s Little Kangaroos, which used to meet on Thursdays at CVČ Paleta.

     In addition to these regular meetings and club evenings, we travel together or individually to various dance-oriented weekend and week-long events throughout the Czech Republic and abroad.
